POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analyst position requires a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual. The ideal candidate is interested in performance improvement, data analysis, and in facilitating health care-related learning among ACHP’s member organizations. To be successful in this position, individuals must have strong technical skills and be dedicated to delivering high-quality analytics products. The Market Competitiveness team plays an important role in  supporting ACHP’s policy agenda and helping member companies compete in their markets.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The data analyst contributes to  the ACHP Market Competitiveness team by combining  programming skills and analysis. Core responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing publicly available and member-reported datasets (e.g., CMS enrollment, CMS Star ratings CAHPS, HOS, HEDIS) to illuminate quality, competitive managed care market landscape and business impacts.
  • Managing ACHP’s data warehouse hosted by Amazon Web Services.
  • Using ACHP’s suite of databases, tools and resources to develop presentations and reports that clearly and concisely convey insights for key internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborating with ACHP departments in analyzing and communicating data and policy/research findings.
  • Supporting work groups that consist of executives from member organizations.
  • Partnering with colleagues on the Market Competitivness  team to continuously enhance our analytic offerings.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, computer science or similar area of study required; Graduate degree in mentioned areas or public policy preferred.
  • Quantitative skills that include the ability to create data visualizations, be facile with descriptive statistics, understand causative versus associative relationships and incorporate evaluations of various data collection methodologies into analytic assessments.
  • Experience with statistical, database and data visualization software including PPT, Python, Excel, SAS, and Tableau; ability to create SQL queries in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and manage a cloud-based data warehouse within AWS.
  • Familiarity with a variety of health care data sources, including data related to Medicaid, HEDIS, CAHPS and CMS Medicare Advantage Star Ratings.
  • 2-3 years of relevant quantitative analysis experience preferred.
  • The ability to manage and organize complex and detailed assignments.
  • Strong judgment, quality assurance and critical thinking skills.
  • Confident and friendly communicator with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work is in an office environment, unless altered by CEO or EVP
  • Some travel required
