The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP), issued this statement in response to the Trump Administration’s executive order on price transparency:
“ACHP member plans share the Administration’s goal of increasing transparency to ensure consumers have the information they need to make the best health care decisions. But we caution that one size does not fill all for transparency policies. Pricing information is most helpful when tied to an individual’s circumstances, such as benefits, deductibles and copays.
“ACHP member plans are already significantly investing in and providing relevant, personalized price transparency beneficiary tools. They are committed to high quality coverage and care, providing the information and options consumers need to choose affordable, quality services. We are happy to share these proven, successful tools with the Administration as it continues to clarify transparency policies.”
