Washington, D.C. (December 21, 2022) – Ceci Connolly, President and CEO of the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP), issued the following statement in response to the 2022 omnibus:
“ACHP commends the provisions ensuring the continuation of quality health care for Americans included in the omnibus bill released Monday night. Critical provisions, including an extension of telehealth flexibilities and the Acute Hospital Care at Home waivers through 2024, will allow for a continuation of high-quality care that patients expect and value.
“ACHP also strongly supported a gradual reduction of the enhanced FMAP that is included in the bill. This provision ensures state redetermination processes can be conducted smoothly and consumers can maintain continuous health coverage while simultaneously creating federal government savings.
“The one-year continuous eligibility period for children in both Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program and 12-month post-partum coverage, which ACHP has long supported, will ensure quality care for expectant parents and their children.
“We thank Congress for including these critical measures and urge both chambers to swiftly pass this bill.”
