Washington, D.C. (December 11, 2025) – The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) issued the following statement urging Congress to extend enhanced health care tax credits as lawmakers debate the future of marketplace subsidies:
“Policymakers must extend the enhanced health care tax credits and protect the affordability of the health insurance millions of families rely upon. With families’ health and well-being on the line, experimenting with untested alternatives now will fall short. Such solutions under discussion provide less support with very little time to implement and will increase costs for consumers and result in more uninsured families. ACHP and its member companies support commonsense reforms and program integrity measures and stand ready to collaborate to ensure the marketplace remains sustainable and affordable. A short-term extension while policymakers consider additional reforms is the only feasible solution. We implore Congress to act now – millions of hard-working Americans cannot afford to wait.”
