The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) submitted a comment letter to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on double patenting, or “patent thickets.” ACHP urges USPTO to make the proposed rule final to level the playing field and promote greater competition by addressing patent thickening, which will ultimately lower prescription drug costs for consumers.
