Expertise: Pharmacy Practice, Long-Term and Post-Acute Care (LTPAC), Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, Medication Therapy Management, Medicare
Experience: As the Senior Manager of Pharmacy Policy, Carmen oversees ACHP’s drug policy portfolio to keep ACHP in the vanguard of pharmacy and drug pricing reforms. Prior to joining ACHP, Carmen lobbied the Hill and CMS on issues to support long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) rehabilitation therapy, diagnostic testing and Health Information Technology (Health IT) in LTPAC settings. Carmen completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) where she supported senior care pharmacists, or consultant pharmacists, through her work in legislative affairs, regulatory affairs, pharmacy practice and professional development.
Hometown: Springboro, OH
Once home to a network of at least 18 documented safe houses, Springboro assisted an estimated 1,000-4,000 enslaved African Americans reach freedom, making the city one of the busiest Underground Railroad routes in all of Ohio.
