“The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) has long supported a strong Marketplace that offers consumers their choice of high-quality, affordable coverage and care. While we welcome the end of the government shutdown, we are deeply disappointed that Congress failed to extend the health care tax credits that millions of Americans rely on to afford Marketplace coverage. This was a missed opportunity to protect hard-working families from higher premiums and to preserve the stability of the individual market. The expiration of these tax credits represents a dangerous step backward for affordability and access to coverage. Community health plans experience firsthand how these tax credits make a real difference in people’s lives, keeping them healthy, financially secure and connected to care. ACHP urges Congress to act swiftly to restore these critical tax credits. Ensuring access to affordable coverage isn’t just good policy; it’s a national priority that strengthens families, communities and the entire health system.”
