The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) about the impact of the Medicare Advantage Health Equity Index (HEI) on regional health plans. Health equity is a core priority for ACHP members, but the framework of the HEI falls short of achieving its intended goal. ACHP calls on CMS to eliminate the social risk factor threshold to allow all health plans to showcase their success on addressing disparities.
