Washington, D.C. – The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) today announces that Dan Jones has joined as Vice President of Federal Affairs. Jones will lead ACHP’s External Affairs team and help execute its innovative and patient-centered advocacy agenda.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dan Jones to ACHP,” said ACHP President & CEO Ceci Connolly. “Dan’s deep knowledge of the health insurance marketplace and experience executing strategic advocacy initiatives will richly advance ACHP’s efforts on behalf of our member plans, particularly in the midst of a public health crisis.”
Jones’ expertise in commercial markets and market stabilization, social determinants of health, surprise billing, drug pricing and government programs, including Medicare, Medicaid and the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program additionally will serve ACHP member companies well as the organization navigates a diverse set of issues amid a new Congress and Administration.
Most recently as Vice President of Enterprise Policy and Government Relations at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), Jones led state and federal policy development, the employees’ political action committee, and legislative and regulatory strategies on several corporate priorities. He also collaborated with senior leadership on issues spanning all lines of business to support and align HCSC’s members and corporate structure with the Washington office.
Jones previously led Congressional advocacy efforts at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) and directed government relations strategies for 36 independent BCBSA plans.
Jones also has experience on Capitol Hill and at associations representing occupational therapists and small businesses.
