Washington, D.C. – In response to Congressional passage of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package, the following statement can be attributed to Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) President and CEO Ceci Connolly:
“ACHP applauds Congress for swiftly passing the American Rescue Plan and delivering critical support to communities across the country.
“Increased federal funding for testing and vaccinations provides life-saving resources critical to defeating the virus. Additionally, enhanced COBRA subsidies, affordability provisions for Exchange coverage and increased Medicaid funding help maintain and expand access to high quality, affordable coverage and care when Americans need it most.
“ACHP’s nonprofit members continue to prioritize prevention, testing and treatment and remain steadfast in their efforts to help turn the tide of the pandemic. We look forward to further collaborating with the Biden-Harris Administration and Congress to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and families in communities throughout the nation.”
