Last month was Black History Month and we enjoyed celebrating diversity by having important conversations with leaders from several of our member companies. Advancing health equity is one of ACHP’s primary focus areas, and we’re grateful for opportunities to speak to those while celebrating Black History Month. We are grateful to Joy Marsh, Caren Caldwell, Arpa Gonzalez and Sarah Perkins for sharing their stories and allowing us to celebrate them and all they do at their respective organizations to advance health equity.

“Developing people and shifting systems towards more equitable outcomes is how I show up everywhere I go, including through my job.”
— Joy Marsh, Vice President of Equity & Inclusion, UCare

“In the best case, Black History Month should serve as a springboard to cultivate an inclusive learning culture in schools and places of employment.”
—Caren Caldwell, Associate Vice President, UPMC Health Plan

“One would hope that every day of the year, we are continuously grateful and remember those who stood up and fought…”
—Arpa Gonzalez, Director of Government Programs Operations, Fallon Health

“Find joy and passion in learning by spending time genuinely listening and absorbing as much as [you] can.”
—Sarah Perkins, Senior Business Development Consultant, Fallon Health
