“From the moment this attack on Change Healthcare occurred, ACHP’s community-based, nonprofit member companies have rushed to ensure clinicians can continue providing care to their patients. They have been working with clinicians from the start to provide solutions and ensure seamless operations and payment for services. Plans have implemented workarounds, engaged with other clearinghouses and advanced dollars to providers that are in dire financial need.
Most urgently, Change Healthcare and UnitedHealth Group need to get back in business with secure, smooth transactions. We appreciate efforts by policymakers to ensure that happens as quickly as possible. The longer this crisis drags on, the greater the impact to patients and providers.
Our member companies are in constant communication with their clinical partners to understand operational challenges and areas of needed support, and they remain committed to being a part of the solution in their local communities. In the coming months, we look forward to understanding this incident better and identifying steps the entire industry can take together to better protect patients, plans and providers.”
