Washington, D.C. (February 1, 2024) – The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) released the following statement in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services CY 2025 Advance Notice for Medicare Advantage and Part D:
“Medicare Advantage (MA) remains the choice of America’s seniors. With nearly 32 million enrollees and growing, it provides quality coverage and care for the majority of Medicare consumers. ACHP member companies lead the market in delivering high-quality coverage and care to seniors, outperforming the industry on nearly 85% of Star ratings.
In 2024, ACHP was the only payer organization supporting CMS’ new risk-adjustment model, focusing on care delivery over documentation and leveling the competitive playing field. ACHP supports CMS continuing the planned phase-in of the new risk-adjustment model and calls on the Agency to implement recommendations that prioritize consumers over paperwork from ACHP’s MA for Tomorrow.
ACHP looks forward to partnering with the Administration to implement the prescription drug affordability requirements in the Inflation Reduction Act and protect consumers through finalizing new limits capping total broker compensation.
ACHP member companies are committed to ensuring that MA and Part D continue to serve consumers. We look forward to continuing to work with the Administration and fight for policies that protect beneficiaries and support delivery of high-quality coverage and care.”
